Well first off, welcome, Patrick from Poland!

This is an interesting photo. On the one hand, one could argue that the human mind is set up to find patterns in lights and shadows and maybe we want to see a face in this. But at the same time, there really is a lot of detail to this face but not so much that I would say "too good to be true" and is obviously photoshopped.

I'm interested that the face is so large. I think that it is possible that the apparition is closer to the camera than the fireplace, just happens to be overlaid with the fireplace.
"Dead men have no need of pretense. What I seek is truth, light beyond light beyond Light. There are those who will tell you a different story. Who is to say which is right? But this I know: what I've seen with the naked eye has been fantasy, perhaps; but what I've known with the heart has been truth." ~Awakening Osiris

I'm not a professional photo-op analyst, but to me, it seems that ur lens could've been smudged and the distortion of the pic came out as that. Have you tried developing as a negative pic to see if an image could still be seen? I've done a lot of photo's of families and randoms and I've usually gotten one or a few lol, pics that have come up blurred like that do to slight movement or lens being smudged...

Thanks for Your answers, yes to me this is to "too good to be true". I have done the negative and the face still can be seen. I dont know, maybe i just got lucky that day to actualy take some kind of evidence of a ghost existence or... i dont know. Thanks for help, and once again - i didnt mess with this photo on photoshop or any other graphic program. Other photos from that day went fine (not blurred etc.), unfortunetely i didnt take any other photos in this room. One i know for sure it is very interesting that we can see so many details. Maybe this thing was standing next to me that day, wow i got chills while thinking of this. Thanks again, and have a nice weekend !
Sincerely,
Your Patrick from Poland

Dear Patrick,

Sorry about my delay in getting to this image. So lets start at the beginning.

First, I looked at the embedded data and I've made a fairly good determination that it was not photo-shopped. All the factors within the image are consistant with an original image. However, the signs I see on the image indicate that perhaps it was scanned with a HP PhotoSmart scanner? Is that the case?
The original file was created back in 2007, so its an older file. Was it scanned from a picture, and did the original picture have the same effects on it?

If its chemical photograph (old style picture) then there is a possibility that something happened in the developing process. But, generally some form of spill or chemical imbalance during developing generally would reduce detail rather than expand it.

Without additional information I would have to say this is inconclusive. And I would look at supporting evidence from the time when this was taken to support that it may be paranormal in nature. Were there any EVP's, any kind of other events that took place at the same time? Anything visually happening at the time the picture was snapped?

I've expanded the area of interest. I found that the image is most pronounced in the lower frequencies (red) and as you sweet to the higher frequencies the image tends to blurr and fade into obscurity. This is in keeping with other paranormal photography, where entities tend to manifest themselves more in the lower or infrared spectrum.

I've enhanced the area of interest, applying a color curve to bring out the detail in the lower frequencies and reduce the noise from the upper frequencies. Also I've brought up the contrast and balanced the brightness.

I did a bit more research, the clothing we're seeing here is circa 1820-1860 period clothing.
The curious aspect though is that the style of clothing is consistent with city cloths from that period, and from the area in which you live. At least as far as I can find. Possibly as late as early 1900's.

The one thing that does bother me howerver is the pronounced line to the right of the girl. Even though I didn't see anything photo-shopped in the image file, that is consistent with something being layered into a photo. Is it possible that a photo was photo-shopped, printed and then scanned?

No i copied this photo from my camera sd card directly to my pc. I didnt print and then scan this. Thank You for your time and such great research !
EDIT: No i didnt do any EVPs, this was my personal trip to museum, i wanted to have some souvenirs from this museum (so i took some pictures).
Oh and i realize about this thing on the photo while copying the content of the sd card to my pc. I didnt notice nothing unusual while being in the museum.
My photo camera was HP PhotoSmart R607:
