This photo was taken in the woods, just outside the fence to Bachelors Grove Cemetery in Midlothian , Illinois. It is said that a black man had been buried in this area and not with the other residents in the cemetery. Other reports say the man was hung from a tree and then buried in this area. We were investigating this area when this photograph was taken.
There appears to be a man walking between the trees towards the cemetery. To me it looks like he is wearing a hat similar to one a farmer or hunter may wear. I can make out his shoulder and arm. He appears to be wearing either a red shirt or coat, possible red and black plaid.
Others who have view the photo say they see him carrying a gun, however I do not see it. Maybe you will.
There are also a story about a caretaker for the cemetery that carried a gun, killed his family and shot himself. Basically its never been verified..so its local folklore as far as I'm concerned.
