so i need some opinions on my nephew seeing things. its started when he went on vacation & stayed in house known to be haunted. he would talk to no one and tell his mom "its a man or ghost" when asked who he was talking to.

now this is the thing i have an opinion on, we were downstairs and he looked at me and said "auntie who that?" i said who? and asked him if he saw someone there. when he said yes he looked frightened so i asked if it was a girl or boy. he said "monster" so i asked him to tell me what the monster looks like. he told me it was a wolf man....

any opinions on this?

How old is your nephew?

You may want to ask him to draw what he saw. Maybe several pictures drawn on 2-3 different days. Remember children will usually try to interpret what they see into something known. As sixsense asked, I'm curious how old the nephew is.

Has there been any discussion as to the house that he has overheard or a part of? And does he like wolf-man movies or comics?

he just turned 2 this month so he doesnt watch any kind of movie that could be frightening enough for a wolf man. also we have never said anything about one.

he seemed pretty frightened & later was telling me he was scared & wanted the bad man to go away. ive always kind of had a weird feeling there was something else in the house but always dismissed it as my mind racing.

I agree with crystalcross, I think the first step should be is to find out if smeone is talking about ghost and monsters in front of him. He could be imitating what he is hearing. At 2 most kids are little parrots.

Is he around older kids that might say stuff when they aren't around the adults.

I think what we're all trying to say is that, granted there is a possibility something has attached itself to him. But lets get some facts, and do a bit of research before we jump to any conclusions. Sometimes the damage done by fear and speculation can be far worse than by anything paranormal.

Start with the drawings. I would also recommend a psychic to help talk/read the boy. At 2, it is overloading to try and explain or groom a young child's mind but closing it from being sensitive is also a bad idea. Proceed with an open mind and caution.

IMO, I would not question him right away. I would get him playing, side tracked, and ask questions then. Also at that time I would let him know that even if the "monster" may look scarey but may just be a normal person and to let adults know if this person tells him anything. I was usually able to get info out of my son when we were in the car since he didn't have to look at me or me at him.

Even if this is a pretend monster, he is doing it for a reason and normally if the kid is out of the area and busy doing something else, he is more likely to tell you details if asked.

Also if this is really scaring him, let him know that he can tell the bad man to leave him alone, most kids are scared because they do not feel they have any control if they see a spirit
